They do charge you the normal tax, and it is based on the value of chassis + drivetrain + any other parts. Basically the total purchase price. The Noble really is an awesome car. I've been toying around with getting an Ariel Atom but haven't seen any good description of how to title/register/tag it in Virginia. I'm also wondering if you have to pay personal property tax on a kit car/SCV and how they would assess it but again there's no info out there.
