Another of my favorite videos. Great concept and execution. Hard to explain unless you watch it.

A List of People Who Died in the Bathroom

Wikipedia has information on all sorts of random topics. Here’s a partial list of people who died in the bathroom. If you take a close look, you’ll notice that persons of Royalty have high proclivity for dying in the bathroom. You’ll probably also note many entertainers on the list. That one wasn’t hard to anticipate.

Thanks Wikipedia.

Also, this kid looks too happy.

Another Noble M400 Update

November 1st, 2006

Same picture, I don’t have any new ones. I’ve been asked several times, so here is a quick update.  The word from Ohio has been "should only be a few more days" since October 5th.

I have a phone call with the installer this evening around 6pm EST. I spoke with him on Monday, anxious to retrieve the car. The M400 was ready for test miles last week but bad weather forced them to let it sit. It was aligned, and picked up by the installer yesterday morning for test mileage, blow-off valve and larger intercooler install. Best case scenario is that all of that went perfectly yesterday.  That makes today round two of test driving. The installer likes to let the car sit overnight and come back to check again for leaking of any sort, etc… and drive it again. If that goes well today, the final under-car panels will be installed and the car will be transferred to 1G Racing tomorrow for final prep.  Friday it should be ready to pick up. The nice thing about waiting is that the red-center seats have arrived from South Africa. When I fly to Ohio depends on my phone conversation with the installer tonight and available flights. I have a kickball tournament on Saturday.  I’d rather not miss it. Best case is that I fly out tomorrow and drive back Friday.  Worse case is that I fly Monday-Tuesday, or perhaps next Friday to retrieve it. Stay tuned, I’ll post an update this evening.

***UPDATE***
I spoke with the installer. The car had a couple small wiring glitches. Larger intercooler and blow-off valve are in the car. It rained Tuesday and Wednesday in Ohio, so no test-driving yet.  That will have to be completed over the next two days or into next week. Looks like another week of waiting. It’s fine though, I’d rather wait and have it done correctly.

Porsche Carerra GT sounds like an F1 car

One of my favorite cars is the Porsche Carerra GT. Here is a 15-second video clip of two of them.  The video itself isn’t much special, but listen closely to the sounds those motors produce. I cannot think of another car with a better sounding motor.

Helicopter Bottle Opener Competition

From the "absurd" files… This video shows a competition between helicopter pilots.  Their task: open as many beer bottles as possible with the time allotted. The bottle opener is attached to the helicopter skid. Completely pointless perhaps, but it looks like a lot of fun.

Radurra Clear Polycarbonate Wheels

A company called Radurra showed off this two-inch thick clear polycarbonate wheel at the recent SEMA show. Radurra says they can take the abuse of normal driving. But can you imagine cleaning brake dust every time you drove somewhere? From the back side of the wheel? They can, however, be painted or backlit, making for some interesting design ideas.
