Beck - Epro Video

Beck’s Epro video is another one of my favorites. The graphics remind me of Atari and Missile Command for some reason.  Otherwise I have no idea what is going on in this video.  That’s what makes it fun to watch, never know what is coming next.  I’d say it is almost nightmarish but Beck is just too laid back.
Here are some lyrics for you:
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na

Touchscreen iPods are Coming

Rumor is that the next versions of the iPod will eliminate the cool touchwheel and button. Instead, you’ll get to browse your music library via touchscreen. This could be cool because Apple will be able to make the entire top surface of the iPod a big screen. This picture comes from Apple’s patent application for such a device. What would that look like? Probably like this.

The Puppy Monorail

James Horecka’s mind was racing last month. "What niche isn’t filled?" "What do consumers want but cannot find?" The answer of course, was a puppy monorail. James flew into action creating a high-quality pet mover in just a few hours time.

"James is one of those rare people that actually takes his inventive ideas and builds something with them. That same Friday, from 5 PM to 10 PM, James built the entire train and track."
Indeed.
"…on average the train has eight coats of paint!"
I would have stopped at 7.
Pictures of the results speak for themselves. I’m guessing they say something different to each of us, but one thing is clear. We need to celebrate technological advances no matter how useless. Here’s, to you, Mr. Puppy Monorail Maker.

By Request: More Chicks

I’ve been told that this blog doesnt have enough "chicks." Purely in the interest of presenting a balanced view of the world, and because I deeply appreciate reader feedback, I present Eric Prydz "Call on Me" video. Eric’s lyrics might be lacking but don’t underestimate his shrewd business sense. He obviously had a lot of creative input on this video shoot. I don’t think I could have conceived a better video, even with midgets.

By Request: More Explosions

Sean commented that my blog lacked explosions, chicks, and a theme song. For chicks, check out the Owner of a Lonely Heart video from the Feb 13th post. I’ll add another video you might be interested in a few minutes. As far as lacking a theme song, you are right.  Check out the new link on the nav. For explosions, I like these two videos. The first is some high-quality nuke blast footage.  Check out the ocean test next to the old Navy ship.  Holy crap. The other video is all about miniguns. Watch it and you’ll understand why Osama is hiding in a cave somewhere.  Click the images to watch them.

Dropkick the Faint

Dropkick the Faint is an example of quality online advertising. Control a disgruntled fan who shouts lines like "I hate my Dad" and "What’s this New Wave Bullshit." before running through the doors, backstage, and dropkicking the band members one by one. And of course you get to listen to three tracks from the Faint while you kill them off. The music got into my head after a couple of games and I’ve since downloaded a song or two. How can you go wrong with the lyrics for "Birth", heh. Go play it.

Basement Jaxx - Red Alert Video

Basement Jaxx’s Red Alert video is one of my all time favorites. Simply, the cops are out chasing down music like it was drugs. At one point they have all kinds of DJ equipment out displayed like confiscated drug paraphernalia. The man bringing the kids down as always.

The Ultimate Sleeping Bag

The next time I attend a (Winter) slumber party, I hope to wear one of these SELK’BAGs. No worrying about where to crash when you’re wearing one of these. "Selk’bag is padded with a number of layered inserts which provide maximum comfort when lying on even the hardest surfaces. Best of al , even the ugliest camper can look positively cute once wrapped in the Selk’bag." Perfect. Seen on The Cool Hunter.

Max Graham - Owner of a Lonely Heart (Remix)

This video is exceptional on several layers. It’s nice to see some entrepreneurial spirit in these young lads. They teach the rest of us just what can be accomplished with a little creativity and hard work. I wish I was this smart at age 12. The song is a remix of Yes’ - Owner of a Lonely Heart. By song alone, I would probably pass this song by after a listen.  But with the accompanying inspirational video it becomes something more. Gotta love the quick cuts and nonstop action. I guess you’ll have to see what I mean. Check out the video here and some other info / mp3 versions here.

Time to Blog (The Beginning)

“Blogging” is huge.  I would have never forecasted this wide an acceptance of online diaries.  It seems “everybody is doing it.”  Several AIM buddy profiles on my list have links to personal blogs.  Maybe there really IS something to this.  So here is my shot at blogging.  I’m going to try to post random things found while surfing, general observations, and well, whatever I feel like.  Comment if you have a chance.

Right now I am stoked to get this site functioning without help.  Wordpress is a fantastic tool.  I found a great layout “theme”, tore it apart and further modified much of the look to what you see now.  This layout will probably change frequently for a while.  I don’t think the mod_rewrite is working yet.  Stay tuned.
